so i've got my old man figured out
i just need to go over the backround in ink and shade the face
but i'm at a loss [and this sucks]
as to what to do for my second piece.
i'm entertaining the thought of doing
fear of failure
over a backround of notepaper/writing?
and perhaps paint/draw a stressed out face?
eh. i'll probably end up doing it and not liking it
but as of yet, i don't really have the luxury of coming up with a decent idea.

some recent sketchbookie things.
these are three sketchbook assignments that i kindofmaybealittle like the result of.
HABITS
the color isn't the best in this picture - its a very bright magenta and yellow combination in truth...
THE FIGURE: SIMPLY

it's a bit of a stretch, calling this "the figure: simply" oh well, though.
CELEBRATION
on a seperate, unrelated note
i'm currently working on a graphite drawing of an old man's profile
[fear of aging]
but i'm hitting a wall when it comes to the background. blehhhh.
ideas/suggestions would be wonderful

.
i am reaallllyy not feeling my concentration
i can't be too subtle about what the fears are, or no one will understand
but it gets wayy cheezy if i have to use symbols to express them
example
fear of commitment: a hand [that is reaching out] with a wedding ring and pictures of people kissing/fighting in the backround.
because no one would understand it without the people? or the ring? mreh.
a;slfjasf.
i don't dig it.

november concentrationzz//whoo
since my art is so textural/tactile, it's quite difficult to photograph properly [at least for someone as inexperienced as i] so the flash is awkwardly on in my pictures...thats only so you can see the texture. its icky though, so sorry.
__fear of the dark [nyctophobia]

_fear of pain/needles/shots/doctors
[the female reproductive system in it is unintentional...ignore the ovaries please. if you don't see it...don't look for it.]

__fear of clowns [coulrophobia]
[the backround says: Come with me and help me find my puppy. I'll give you an ice cream cone if you come for a ride with me. Your mom told me to bring you home - your dad died. Will you show me the way to the post office?]

concentration
I'm still not completely sold on my concentration idea...
buttttt what seems to be my only idea that has held up to any sort of standard/ thought of completion is an idea of portraying fears [general or my own, although if they were mine they would have a more consistant theme]. mrr.
I hope that the sketchbook picture I posted before counts as what Ms. McBride wants..I don't have any thumbnails of concentration ideas and I'm too lazy to put up another one.

_sketchbook?
this is my most recent sketchbook assignment...and i kind of like it, but it seems a little unbalanced. [it is for "comfort" and the things in the background are people _hugging_ and in the foreground it is a graphite sketch of a teabag...all of it was painted in four different teas except the acrylic outline and the first [of many] layers of the background, which was a light wash of pinkish red]
